Introduction

Prayer

In the name of Yahushua
Our Messiah,
I pray for the Spirit of Understanding
The Spirit of Knowledge and
The Spirit of Wisdom
As I read through this List of Commandments
That the Spirit of Understand
May write them upon our
Hearts.. A men

Mitzvah or Mitzvot, plural is the Hebrew for “Divine Precept” or “Commandment.” The Torah contains 365 prohibitive Commandment, or forbidden desires, the things or action we must refrained from doing, and 248 positive Commandments, the positive desires we should all desire, the Words and actions ABBA YAHWEH prescribe for our daily lives.

The fact that Adam and Eve eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, everyman needed to be educated on what is right and what is wrong. Both set of commandments provides the CREATORS guidance in what desires is Holy and what is not Holy, in though, word and deeds.

The only way to attain Holiness “closeness to ABBA YAHWEH” is through obedience to the Commandments “Mitzvot.” The Torah were given to us not for the sake of imposing rules and restrictions on humanity, but it is a Divine Communication that can be seen as generous, teaching humanity how life works and what to do and what not do to.

Within the Commandments are all the instructions necessary for human conduct, in order to help people, believers should avoids negative consequence and repercussions, so that we can reap the greatest benefit from living in accordance with the laws of the CREATOR of the Universe.

The Mitzvot or commandments are not just restrictive or punitive actions; they are methodical explanation of the laws of the Kingdom of Shamayim, the heavens. Torah is not just a book design to control human beings as much as it is the constitution of the Kingdom. It is a set of rules of the game, informing us that if a certain action is taken, there is a specific consequence that will occur at some points in time.

The Mitzvot also informs us of the things we can do to maximize the benefits and goodness of life. This is what Kabbalah teaches that every single thought, word, and deed we indulge in, has repercussions throughout the entire universe. The prohibitive commandments can be viewed as essentially a list of parasitic way in which the evil-one feeds off the vitality of the human being, by diverting precious life energy to the flesh. It is in this sense that the prohibitive Commandments can be seen as a gift of insight about those things that humanity should avoid in order to be a vessel for light.

In Messiyanic Judaism, keeping the Commandment is an action in Love for our Messiyah, the One who went to the Cross, bearing the curse of our sins. The practice of Messiyanic Judaism involves adherence to the Renewed Covenant negotiated my Yahushua, for us on a daily basic.  The level or degree of observance of the Commandments “Mitzvot” varies according to an individual’s day of Creation.

Within Messiyanic Judaism, the commandments apply universally, except for the sacrificing of animals, for Messiyah Yahushua is our Lamb slaying from the foundation of the world. We do not kill a lamb anymore, for our sins, but we bring the cost of the sacrifice.

The Practice of Messiyanic Judaism is always evolving, no matter what, it is a living faith. Today, within Messiyanic Judaism, there is a distinct trend towards a restoration of all things which will restore a deeper level of spiritually, which naturally involves a constant obedience to the Commandments. This is the Spirit of Elijah.

When the Written Torah was given, an Oral Torah was also given; which expand and explain the written Torah? Kabbalah teaches that the 10 Commandments derive from the 613 specific commandments. The Written Torah is the 613 and the 10 is the summary off the 613 commandments. While the “Mishnah” the Oral Torah is derive from the Sephirah Keter, which is the Metaphysical origin of the Commandments.

Kabbalah teaches that the Commandments “mitzvot” have both personal and celestial impact, because every word we utter our voice reverberates throughout all of the Olamot “World,” either promoting or hindering the dynamic spiritual balance of the universe.

It is our own words and actions that make possible the actualization of the Divine Will of this world. It is this astonishing fact of life that reveals the ultimate purpose of each Commandment we perform out of love for Messiyah. Each Command activates and connects us with ABBA YAHWEH, by raising our level of righteousness in this physical world. There is a physiological counterpart in the physical body; the performance of the Commandments “Mitzvot” produces spiritual nourishment into every part of our body, soul and spirit.

There are three type of action the human Ego can engage in. In the Hebrew language they are:

1.     Assur – means “prohibited” or “forbidden, or sin,” the negative commandment or desires, when this is done it makes the soul unavailable for spiritual elevation.

2.     Mitzvah – means “Divine Precept” or “positive Commandments” or desires, the actions that will cause the soul to be elevated.

3.     Mutar – means “permitted” example generosity, when this is performed with the correct intention, it permits the soul to be elevated.

Every Kingdom is establishes and govern by a set of laws, rules, regulations and Statues. The Kingdom of the Heavens is the epitome of a King whose laws, precepts, statues, judgments and command are laid out in a document written on two stone tablets called the Ten Commands which is a summery of the Torah, the first five books of the Scripture.
These regulations are divided in two sections: The Love for the King of that Kingdom, and the Love for its citizens. These two categories can be further broken down into ten categories, know as the Ten Commandments. These Ten Commandments are further broken down in 612 specific principles, covering every avenue of life between man and his Creator and man and man.

When Yahushua came to Earth, He clarified that the Commandments was in two sections: The love for our Creator and the love for our fellow man. At one point in our history the Commandments was based on obedience; to a point this is still true, for we are still required to keep the Commandments. Today however, we are required to keep the Commandments base on the Love for our Messiyah Yahushua. If you Love Me keep my Commandments. John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments”.

Rabbinic Judaism keep the commandment out of obedience to the Laws, Scriptural Judaism “Messianic Judaism” keep the Commandment out of a love for our Messiyah, who died for us at Calvary. It is imperative for everyone to understand that these commandments outline in this paper, forms the constitution of the Heavenly Kingdom. As a potential good citizen of that Kingdom, we must learn them by writing them on our hearts as Jeremiah 31:33 and Hebrew 8:10 admonish us to do. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisrael after those days, saith YAHWEH; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a EL, and they shall be to me a people:

The purpose of this paper is to look in details on every positive and negative command, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, listed in Torah. What we as citizen of that kingdom, are required to do and not to do, when to do them and when not to do them, how to do them and how not to do them. The time when we are to do them, and when we are not to do them. This is called our desires.

The good citizens of every kingdom are classified by there ability to be obedient to its laws. By disobeying the laws in love for the King, we show contempt for the laws and it’s King. The Sons of the King are usually the one’s who help to formulate and uphold the Laws of their father’s Kingdom. El Yahushua (Jesus Christ) was a son who upholds His Father Desires absolutely perfect. He said that His Will was to do His Father’s wishes, which is to keep Torah.

When the Children of Yisrael said "na'aseh v'nishma” – we will do and we will listen", they were accepting the marriage contract, the Ketubah, or the Torah with its 613 Mitzvos (commandments). The mitzvos that we are given are the constitution of the Heavenly Kingdom. Those of us who wishes to operate in our full potential in that Kingdom, should pay close attention and learn them. The whole premise of mankind is to learn these commandments or in short, the Constitution of the heavenly Kingdom, this is the Will of El YAHWEH for all of His children. The evil-ones job is to prevent or stop us from learning or obeying these rules and regulations.

As citizen of the Heavenly Kingdom, we are precious gifts through which we can manifest the glory of the Kingdom of Heavens here on earth. The Torah contains all the information’s for us to grow and blossom, and through which our relationships between a set Apart Elohim and His subject, a person and another person, or a person and him/herself can flourish. From a broader perspective, these laws form the Constitution of the Heavenly Kingdom. In every kingdom, good citizen, are define by their obedience to the laws, they cannot know the constitution and follows its laws, precepts, statues, and judgments, unless they study the document.

Of the 612 Mitzvos “commandments”, there are 247 positive desires, commandments, meaning, the actions "we shall do", the good side of the Tree of Knowledge and 365 negative desires, commandments, meaning, the actions "we shall not do" the evil side of the tree of Knowledge. The children of light routinely manifest the good side of the Tree of Knowledge on a daily bases, while the children of darkness desires is for the negative commandments, the evil side of the tree of Knowledge.

These 612 commandments is what I called, the required curriculum need to be accomplish, by anyone who wishes to graduate with a degree in full son-ship in the Kingdom of Heaven. Planet Earth is nothing more than a gigantic universal university, where El YAHWEH trains His children to be developed perfect desires. The establishing of these desires or compliance to His commandments, Law, statues, precepts, judgments, and right rulings will determine what reward we will receive in the world to come.

The 247 positive commandments are the requirement required by a Set Apart Elohim for His subjects. These are what is required for us to maintain ones status as a good or holy subject. Perfection is determined by the amount of these positive desires one faithfully keep. While the practicing of anyone of the 365 negative desires, commandment, create a void between The Sovereign Master of the Kingdom of Heavens and His created subjects.

The words: obey, obedience, blameless are found in the scripture 14, 504, and 47 respectively. Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My Voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine.

Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, El YAHWEH appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty Elohim; walk before Me and be blameless. 2“And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.

The word disobedience on the other hand, are shown in Ezekiel 5:7 Therefore thus says EL YAHWEH  ‘Because you have multiplied disobedience more than the nations that are all around you, and have not walked in My statutes nor kept My judgments, nor even done according to the judgments of the nations that are all around you’ 8“therefore thus says the Elohim YAHWEH: ‘Indeed I, even I, am against you and will execute judgments in your midst in the sight of the nations.

The source of all disobedience according to scripture comes from the spirit of the power of the Air. Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

Now lets us look all look at the Commandments "Desires" so we can study them, know them, in order that we may walk in them, knowing what is right and what is wrong. What we are to do in every given situation. That we may learn to separate light from darkness, truth from lies, and right from wrong.

Obedient to the Laws will produce the blessing of Deu 28:1-14 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of EL YAHWEH, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that EL YAHWEH will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: 2  And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the YAHWEH thy EL; disobedient to the laws produce the curse of Deu 28:15-68  But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of YAHVEH thy Elohim, to observe to do all HIS commandments and HIS statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

A thorough knowledge of the Commandment will establishes the first day of Creation in our lives spiritually. So that we may experience our second day of Creation! Without a thorough knowledge of the Commandments we will never truly walk in all the fullness of the first day of Creation. The first day of Creation forms the foundation of our spiritual walk, were the Spirit of Truth establishes us a children of light, Let us learn them together?

There are two sets of Commandments in Torah: One which is place in the Ark, Exodus 40:20  And he took and placed the Testimony into the Ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy-seat on the ark from above. and another set which is place on the outside of the Ark. Deur 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of  EL YAHWEH, that it may be there for a witness against thee

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; We will hear Christians quoting Colossians that the law is nail to the Cross. Say to them that is true, but which one of the laws were nail to the cross, the one on the inside of the Ark, Exo 40:20 or the one on the outside of the Ark, Deu 31:26.

Then ask them to read the two following Scripture to see what both the old and the New Testament say about the laws that were place inside of the Ark.

By the way, the Ark is an illustration of a mature believer, one who internalize the Word, the Holy Spirit, and who is spiritually qualified to be a Pot of Manna for other to feed from.

This paper is to examine the Laws that we should internalize or have them written on our heart. JER 31:33 and Hebrew 8:10 For this is the Covenant that I will make with the house of Yisrael after those days, saith YAHVEH; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a EL, and they shall be to me a people

Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27  And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.

The law that was nail to the cross is the curse of the Law, Deut 28:15 – 68.

The laws Concerning YAHVEH

Laws Concerning YAHVEH

1.      To know that YAHVEH exists (Ex. 20:2; Deut. 5:6 I am YAHWEH your Elohim who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.7‘You shall have no other Elohim before Me) This command teacher us that in the redeemed community YAHWEH is Sovereign, Elohim is a spirit, He is one with His Sons, He is eternal, all prayers must be directed to Him alone, the words of the prophets are true concerning His Son Yahushua our Messiah, there will be no other Torah, His Word are final and unchanging, He knows the thoughts and deeds of all men, He will rewards every good deeds and punish the wicked at the resurrection.  To believe that YAHVEH created and controls the universe. This is the most basic and fundamental of all teachings, the essence of all reality. To understand that YAHWEH is the Absolute One, the Ultimate One, the Only One, and the Unique One. YAHWEH has no physical dimensions. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all. He is the only Creator; all else are His creations.  “The foundation of all foundations and the pillar of all wisdom is to know that there is a Creator who created the universe with profound wisdom.

2.      Not to entertain the idea that there is any other sovereign EL, but the Eternal (Ex. 20:3 “You shall have no other Elohim “gods” before Me. 4“You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the YAHWEH our El, am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.) This command teacher us that there are many gods in heaven, all spiritual been are gods, however the one that must be worship is the YAHWEH EL ELYON, He is the Mighty Ones of all other gods, and Master of all Lords. El YAHWEH is the one that sits on the Throne in the Heavenly Kingdom. In the redeemed community there must be nothing in our lives that take the place of El YAHWEH who rules from Heaven. Everything in the universe was created by Him. Judaism completely rejects the dualistic notion that evil was created by Satan or some other deity, everything comes from El YAHWEH. As Isaiah said, "I am the YAHWEH, and there is none else. I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil. I am the EL, that does all these things." The basic of this fundamental idea: Everything is from YAHWEH. There is nothing else. YAHWEH is completely independent. He is the Absolute Authority. He is the Master of All. Everything depends on the awareness of YAHWEH. His Oneness is most unique. He is unlimited and has no physical limitations. His power is forever. He is everywhere. We use human terms in describing Him and His actions, only because we are limited in understanding YAHWEH.

3.      Not to blaspheme the name of YAHWEH, the penalty for which is death (Lev. 24:16And whoever blasphemes the name of YAHVEH shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall certainly stone him, the stranger as well as him who is born in the land. When he blasphemes the name of YAHVEH, he shall be put to death.) This command teacher us that a mature believer will not blaspheme the sacred name of hwhy, since He is the Sovereign God, His Name is Set Apart for He is Holy. Using the name of YAHWEH in a derogative sense shows a general lack of reverence for the One who is Holy, Holy, Holy. The three holy depict extreme Holiness, which is associated only to our Heavenly Father. Therefore His Name must never be used in for example as a swear word, or to curse, this is one of the negative commandments. However we can call on His name when we are in any distress. This mitzvah has two aspects: the mitzvah to die al kiddush YAHWEH (in sanctification of YAHWEH’S name), if necessary, and the mitzvah to always live al kiddush YAHWEH. YAHWEH is the Creator of everything. He made us and gave us His Torah. Thus: One must give up his life rather than deny YAHWEH’s existence, commit adultery, or cause bloodshed (the three cardinal sins). If one is ordered to commit any sin in front of ten Jews, he must give up his life rather than commit the sin. If one is ordered to commit a sin at a time of shemad (persecution), he must accept death, even in private.

In our daily lives we are obligated to sanctify YAHWEH’s name. If someone behaves in a manner which upsets people, even if he is not doing any specific transgressions, this is a chillul YAHWEH.... A wise person must be meticulous with his actions and act beyond the letter of the law. When he is careful to speak, he or she should speaks with gentleness to others, in which they are involved with them, greets them even if they shame him, honors even those who are disrespectful to him, conducts his business dealings honestly. He or she is always seen studying Torah...and acts in ways that are within the Torah’s requirements, until everyone praises HIM, loves HIM, and desires to emulate HIS deeds: this person is sanctifying YAHWEH’s name.

4.      To hallow YAHWEH’s name (Lev. 22:32 You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Yisrael. I am El YAHWEH who sanctifies you,). This command teacher us that in the Hebrew mindset, a name is not merely an arbitrary designation, a random combination of sounds. In the redeemed community a name conveys the nature, the very essence of the thing been named. It represents the history and reputation of the being named. His name should be treated with the same respect as the Mighty Elohim reputation. For this reason, YAH's Names, in all of their forms, are treated with enormous respect, holiness, and reverence. This does not mean we cannot call on His name! We can call His name anytime we want, because we love Him and respect Him, as a loving child calls on his father in love. There are several Attribute to the Name of the CREATOR.

·         YAHWEH יהוה – The Self existent One, the One who will all things into existent.

·         YAHWEH EL ELYON – YAHWEH is the Most High Power of Power.

·         YAHWEH TSEBAOTE – YAHWEH is the Host or Armies of Heavens.

·         YAHWEH NISSI – YAHWEH is my Standard, my Banner, my Test.

·         YAHWEH ROIE – YAHWEH is my Seer, Spectator.

·         YAHWEH EL-SHADDAI – YAHWEH is the Breasted One, Nourisher,

·         YAHWEH EL-OLAM – YAHWEH is The Everlasting Power.

·         YAHWEH YIREH – YAHWEH will Provide.

·         YAHWEH KHASED – YAHWEH is merciful, Kind, Loving.

·         YAHWEH SHALOM – YAHWEH is my Peace, Well being, Safety, Prosperity.

·         YAHWEH ROPHEKAH – YAHWEH is my Divine Healer.

·         YAHWEH ROEH – YAHWEH is my Shepherd.

·         YAHWEH TSEDKANU – YAHWEH is our Righteousness.

·         EL – Strong, Mighty, Almighty Power, God.

·         ELOHIM – Almighty Creator.

·         YAHUSHUA – YAHWEH will save, deliver, redeem, help, rescue, salvation.

5.      Not to profane YAHVEH's name (Lev. 22:32 You shall not profane My Set Apart “יהוה” Name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Yisrael. I am YAHVEH who sanctifies you.). This command teacher us that one way of profaning His name is when we say we belong to Him, yet we do not do what He tells us to do in His Word. Or when we do not do His commandment, His Precepts and His Statues. Among the redeemed His Name must be glorified. It is like a woman who takes the name of her husband, wet refuse to perform the duties of a wife. When we refer to HIM as God, Or The Lord, we are profaning HIS Name. HIS Name will always be “יהוה” YAHWEH. There are many attribute to HIS Name as show in number 4.

6.      To know that Elohim is One, a complete Unity (Deut. 6:4 Hear, O Yisrael: The YAHWEH our El, YAHVEH is one!) This command teacher us that there is a Father, there is a Son, and there is a Holy Spirit. However, they are one. One in Spirit, one in loyalty, one in Love, one in doctrine. The doctrine of the trinity goes against this fact that Elohim is One. When we keep HIS commandment and walk in the fullness of His Spirit, we will be one with Him.

7.      To love El YAHWEH (Deut. 6:5 “You shall love the EL YAHWEH our El with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.) This command teacher us that this is a rational concept that we must develop, it is not a feeling, it is a state of been. It is a cognitive decision we are to make for Who YAHWEH is to us. John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. Love is based on knowing YAHWEH, which is developed by studying His teachings. Therefore, we have three methods by which we can achieve love of YAHWEH: studying His Torah, analyzing His Mitzvos, and contemplating His creations. Included in this mitzvah is the obligation to bring other people closer to YAHWEH. One who loves someone will sing his praises and tell others to love him, too. This is what Avraham Avinu did, because he loved YAHWEH, he taught everyone around him to follow suit.

8.      To fear Him reverently (Deut. 6:13; 10:20 “You shall fear YAHWEH our El and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name.) This fear is to hold YAHWEH Name in the highest revere, not in a fearsome dread, but in high esteem. In Isaiah 11:2 The Spirit of YAHVEH shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHVEH. This command teacher us that prayer is the service of the heart. We are required to praise YAHVEH, ask Him to fill our needs, and thank Him for His help daily. Prayer is so basic and fundamental that it stems from the very beginning of our history. Avraham Avinu, our first patriarch, instituted shacharis (the morning prayer). Yitzchak, his son, instituted minchah (the afternoon prayer), and Yaakov, the last patriarch, instituted maariv (the evening prayer). Prayer allows a person to communicate with his Creator, the source of his life and sustenance. When we our daily prayer, we connect to our Creator in an incredible way. In order to appreciate this opportunity to the fullest, we must realize that we are standing before YAHWEH and praying to Him. We are commanded to fear YAHWEH, who is the Absolute Power. He watches everything we do and holds us accountable for all of our actions.

9.      Not to put the word of YAHWEH to the test (Deut. 6:16 You shall not tempt YAHWEH our EL as you tempted Him in Massah.) This command teacher us that we can put the Word of YAHWEH to the test, by allowing it to accomplish what it say it will accomplish in the positive sense. However, we must never question the power, or the ability of the Word of YAHVEH to do what it says it will do, negative).

10.   To imitate His good and upright ways (Deut. 28:9 The Master will establish you as a Set Apart people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the YAHWEH our El and walk in His ways.) This command teacher us that every Kingdom has a constitution, the Kingdom of Heaven has the Commandment, the statues, the precepts, I call them my constitution. Whenever we abide by the constitution of any kingdom, we become a good citizen of that kingdom. The ruler of that kingdom usually gives portfolio to those who establish themselves as defender of that constitution. The Kingdom of Heaven is no different. We have to follow YAHWEH’S ways of kindness, mercy, compassion, and so on, as much as possible. For example, we are taught, “Be holy, for YAHWEH is holy” (Vayikra 19:2). Because YAHWEH is holy beyond anything that we can comprehend, the Jewish nation has always been the most holy nation.

We become holy when we fulfill the laws of the Torah, and we study YAHWEH’S ways and endeavor to model our thoughts, attitudes, and behavior after YAHWEH. Other examples of following YAHWEH’S ways are: To be kind to others, even when they are not appreciative of our efforts, as YAHWEH is always kind to us, although we don’t always acknowledge Him and His kindness. Forgive others when they apologize, as YAHWEH forgives us when we repent. Be more patient with others, as YAHWEH is extremely patient with us. Be humble, as YAHWEH is. “Wherever we find His Greatness, we also find His humility”. The Talmud teaches, “A person should always be soft and flexible as a reed, not firm as a cedar tree”.

Law concerning poor and unfortunate

The Law concerning

 Poor and Unfortunate

40.   Not to afflict an orphan or a widow (Ex. 22:21 “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt). Widows and fatherless must not be abused. Those who do not have a male in the home to defend them. You shall not afflict them, that is, we shall comfort and assist them, and be ready at all occasions to show them kindness. In making just demands from them, their condition must be considered, who have lost those that should protect and provide for them; they are supposed to be unversed in business, destitute of advice, timorous, and of a tender spirit, and therefore must be treated with kindness and compassion; no advantage must be taken against them, nor any hardship put upon them, from which a husband or a father would have sheltered them. For YAHJVEH takes particular cognizance of their case. Having no one else to complain and appeal to, they will cry unto YAHVEH, and HE will be sure to hear them; for HIS law and HIS providence are guardians to the widows and fatherless, and if men do not pity them, and will not hear them, YAHVEH will. Note, It is a great comfort to those who are injured and oppressed by men that they have a EL to go to who will do more than give them the hearing; and it ought to be a terror to those who are oppressive that they have the cry of the poor against them, which YAHVEH will hear.

41.   Not to reap the entire field (Lev. 19:9; Lev. 23:22 ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap.) (negative). Probably it comes in here as a thing which the priests must take occasion to remind the people of, when they brought their first-fruits, intimating to them that to obey even in this small matter was better than sacrifice, and that, unless they were obedient, their offerings should not be accepted. It also taught them that the joy of harvest should express itself in charity to the poor, who must have their due out of what we have, as well as YAHWEH His. Those that are truly sensible of the mercy they receive from God will without grudging show mercy to the poor.

42.   To leave the un-reaped corner of the field or orchard for the poor (Lev. 19:9 …. nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the YAHWEH our El) (affirmative). Note, Works of piety must be always attended with works of charity, according as our ability is. When they gathered in their corn, they must leave some standing in the corner of the field; the Jewish doctors say, It should be a sixtieth part of the field; and they must also leave the gleanings and the small clusters of their grapes, which at first were overlooked. This law, though not binding now in the letter of it, yet teaches us, that we must not be covetous and griping, and greedy of every thing we can lay any claim to; nor insist upon our right in things small and trivial. That we must be well pleased to see the poor supplied and refreshed with the fruit of our labors. We must not think every thing lost that goes beside ourselves, nor any thing wasted that goes to the poor. That times of joy, such as harvest-time is, are proper times for charity; that, when we rejoice, the poor may rejoice with us, and when our hearts are blessing YAHWEH their Lord may bless us.

43.   Not to gather gleanings the fruit that have fallen to the ground while reaping, (Lev. 19: 9 nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest) During harvest time if any of the corn fall to the ground it must not be pick up. It is to remain for the poor. Sometime in our action, thing may fall to the ground, those this means that it should be given away.

44.   To leave the gleanings for the poor (Lev. 19:9 You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger) (affirmative). Elohim provide welfare even for the poor, however they must work for it. The farmer was obliged to leave some of the crop behind, but the poor must go and gather it them selves.

45.   Not to gather ol’loth (the imperfect clusters) of the vineyard (Lev. 19:10 ‘And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the YAHWEH our El.) (The large bunch of grapes one may harvest, however the small bunch, the one with a single Grape, should be left on the vine for the poor).

46.   To leave ol’loth (the imperfect clusters) of the vineyard for the poor (Lev. 19: 10 ‘And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the YAHWEH your EL. Deut. 24:21) (Sometime we need a standard by which to help us to determine when to or what to leave on the grape vine for the poor. Those small cluster of four or five grape, should not be harvest, that is a sign of stinginess.

47.   Not to gather the perfect (grapes) that have fallen to the ground (Lev. 19:10‘And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the YAHWEH our EL. Example when the men are harvesting the wheat those stalk that fall to the ground, even if it is a large stalk, do not pick it up after it has been fallen. A farmer in the redeemed community follows this policy or practice.

48.   To leave peret (the single grapes) of the vineyard for the poor (Lev. 19:10  ……nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard.) (The grape vine that has a single grape on branch must not reap it leave it for the poor. Those of us who have only developed one aspect of the Holy Spirit will not be harvest on that great day).

49. Not to return to take a forgotten sheaf (Deut. 24:19 “When you reap your harvest in your field, and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that the YAHWEH our El may bless you in all the work of your hands.) This applies to all fruit trees. Ruth 2:15 And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. 16“Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her.” The story of the wise and foolish virgin comes to mind. Those who had the door closed, on them will not be part of the wedding feast. It is imperative for us not to be a forgotten or left behind sheaf.

50. To leave the forgotten sheaves for the poor (Deut. 24:20 When you beat your olive trees, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow ) (affirmative). During the process of harvesting if you should forget a sheaf of wheat in the field do not return and pick it up, leave it for the poor. (negative). Those who are left behind will be with the stranger (unsaved) and the poor in spirit.

51. Not to refrain from maintaining a poor man and giving him what he needs (Deut. 15:7 “If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the YAHWEH our EL is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother.) Giving to the poor is an obligation in Judaism, a duty that cannot be forsaken even by those who are themselves in need. Some teaches that tzedakah “charity” is the highest of all commandments, equal to all of them combined, and that a person who does not perform tzedakah is equivalent to an idol worshipper. This is probably overstatement, but it illustrates the importance of tzedakah in Jewish thought. Tzedakah is one of the three acts that gain us forgiveness from our sins. The High Holiday liturgy repeatedly states that YAHVEH has inscribed a judgment against all who have sinned, but teshuvah (repentance), Tefilah (prayer) and tzedakah can alleviate the decree. However, not all person who ask for help really needs help, but if a person is truly in need and has no way to obtain money on his own he should not feel embarrassed to accept tzedakah. No person should feel too proud to take money from others. In fact, it is considered a transgression to refuse tzedakah. One source says that to make yourself suffer by refusing to accept tzedakah is equivalent to shedding your own blood.

52. To give charity according to one's means (Deut. 15:11 “For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.). According to Jewish law, we are required to give one-tenth of our income to the poor. This is generally interpreted as one-tenth of our net income after payment of taxes. Taxes themselves do not fulfill our obligation to give tzedakah, even though a significant portion of tax revenues in America and many other countries are used to provide for the poor and needy. Those who are dependent on public assistance or living on the edge of subsistence may give less, but must still give to the extent they are able; however, no person should give so much that he would become a public burden.
