The Law concerning

Forbidden Sexual Relations

40.                    Not to indulge in familiarities with relatives, such as kissing, embracing, winking, skipping, which may lead to incest (Lev. 18:6 ‘None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am YAHVEH.) This command teaches us that this is a forbidden relationship, any child from these union cannot minister unto YAHVEH. The Torah contains a long list of prohibited marriages between blood relatives. The only explanation for these prohibitions, which are classified as incest, is that they were practiced by idolatrous cultures and therefore forbidden to the Children of Yisrael. It did not say not to marry, it specific said do not approach any close family, to see their nakedness.

(This command teaches us that although your father wife is not necessary you mother, she could be your mother-in-law. One exposes his father nakedness by cohabiting with one’s father wife, even if the woman is not the mother of the perpetrator. Do not live with any woman who have ever been the wife of one’s father, even if she is raped).

85.                    Not to commit incest with one's sister (Lev. 18:9 ‘The nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or elsewhere, their nakedness you shall not uncover.) (This command teaches us that taking one’s full sister or half sister is another of the forbidden relationship).

87.                    Not to commit incest with one's son's daughter (Lev. 18:10 ‘The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs is your own nakedness.) (This command teaches us that you can treats this and the next as one commandment; some treats them as two).

88.                    Not to commit incest with one's daughter's daughter (Lev. 18:10 ‘The nakedness of your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter, their nakedness you shall not uncover; for theirs is your own nakedness.) (This command teaches us that having sex with our grand children is another of the forbidden relationship).

89.                    Not to commit incest with one's daughter (this is not explicitly in the Torah but is inferred from other explicit commands that would include it) (This command teaches us that having sex with our children is another of the forbidden relationship. We knew from Scripture that Lot’s daughters became his wives, even if it was for a noble reasons, it is still forbidden).

90.                    Not to commit incest with one's fathers sister (Lev. 18:12 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is near of kin to your father.) (This command teaches us that taking your farther sister as a wife is incest, it is a forbidden relationship).

93.                    Not to commit sodomy with one's father's brother (Lev. 18: 14‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother.) (This command teaches us that this could mean sodomy with one’s brother. Who is a brother? A brother is any one who believes as you do).

94.                    Not to commit incest with one's son's wife (Lev. 18:15 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness.) (This command teaches us that a father wife does not mean your mother. From a biblical perspective a man can have more that one wife. David, Moses, Solomon, Jacob only to name a few. This too is another of the forbidden relationship).

95.                    Not to commit incest with one's brother's wife (Lev. 18:16‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness.) (This command teaches us that unless she is childless and her first husband dies, another brother may take her as a wife. However, having sexual relationship with her, while her husband is still having a relationship with her is another of the forbidden relationship).

96.                    Not to commit incest with one's wife's daughter (Lev. 18:17 ‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, nor shall you take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They are near of kin to her. It is wickedness.) (This command teaches us that any one who is near of kin is forbidden. This daughter could be a daughter from a previous relationship. Even her is part of a forbidden relationship).

97.                    Not to commit incest with the daughter of one's wife's son (Lev. 18:17) (This command teaches us that one’s wife son seem to be a younger woman. This however does not speak of age as a restriction to taking a wife. This command teaches what Torah considers to be a forbidden relationship).

98.                    Not to commit incest with the daughter of one's wife's daughter (Lev. 18:17) (This command seems to imply that within the family circle, any relation seems to be forbidden, except the wife of a dead male in the family).

99.                    Not to commit incest with one's wife's sister (Lev. 18:18 ‘Nor shall you take a woman as a rival to her sister, to uncover her nakedness while the other is alive.). This command teaches us that a woman in addition to her sister is forbidden. The prohibition applies as long as the first relationship is still existence, even if she had been divorced. Upon the death of the first sister, however, the husband may marry the surviving sister. Jacob did take two sister as wife, Leah and Rachel.

100.                Not to have intercourse with a woman, in her menstrual period (Lev. 18:19‘Also you shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is in her customary impurity.) (certain sexual practice are always forbidden. We are told that for seven day a woman must remain secluded, remember the story of Rachael, Jacob wife and her father idols. These sexual acts must not be a practice among the redeemed community).

101.                Not to have intercourse with another man's wife (Lev. 18: 20‘Moreover you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, to defile yourself with her.) (This command teaches us that who is thy neighbor? The neighbor is one who believes like you do. They are not the person living next to you. To believers should not be having sexual relationship with the same woman. The children of this union will be an abomination). ( Children of a forbidden relationship are not allow to go into the temple. In any of the above commandments it says that a man cannot desire a virgin?)

102.                Not to commit sodomy with a male (Lev. 18: 22‘You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination).( This command teaches us that sodomy is a forbidden act, need not I say any more. This practice is a forbidden act.)

103.                Not to have intercourse with a beast (Lev. 18:23 ‘Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. (This command teaches us that as spiritual been we are experiencing a human experience, animals in scripture usually represent the flesh, we must not desire the flesh, we must overcome it. The Spirit like a woman must be desire, however the right kind of woman is preferred as we should desire the right kind of spirit. This too is a forbidden act and should not be practice).

104.                That a woman shall not have intercourse with a beast (Lev. 18:23 …… Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.) (This command teaches us that when a woman stand before an animal is like a angel desiring to be human. It is not a up grading, but a degrading of our spiritual life. This too is an forbidden act).

105.                Not to castrate the male of any species; neither a man, nor a domestic or wild beast, nor a fowl (Lev. 22:24‘You shall not offer to YAHVEH what is bruised or crushed, or torn or cut; nor shall you make any offering of them in your land.) (This command teaches us that anything blessish or castration, are forbidden in the Land of Yisrael or elsewhere. The phrase in your land means that it is forbidden to do so to every conceivable species of animal in the country, whether or not they are acceptable for offering or kosher as food). Children from the above relationship are considered unclean. Remember the story of David and Batsheba their first child had to die. Why you may ask? Can you ever imagine a Child a product of Adultery been the heir to the Eternal Throne. We must remember that the whole purpose of life is for us to learn the principle of the Heavenly Kingdom. One of the principles of the Heavenly Kingdom is perfection in every thing. If our Father El YAHWEH say this is how the Kingdom must function, who are we to question the Constitution of His Kingdom, where He is the King.

There are 25 specific commandments on unlawful sexual activity, yet none says that a man cannot have more than one wife.
